Marketing to Women on Purpose: the Change the Financial Industry Needs

Marketing to Women on Purpose: the Change the Financial Industry Needs

The financial industry has done a lousy job of making this industry more attractive and conducive for not just women advisors but for women clients too.

We need to make a change – but how?

In this episode, Adri confronts the persistent underrepresentation of women in the financial industry. Drawing from her own experiences, she discusses her endeavors to champion a more feminine approach to financial advising. Despite making strides, she acknowledges that the industry still has a long way to go.

To address this gap, Adri introduces her latest initiative, the “Marketing to Women on Purpose” program, designed to equip advisors with the tools to effectively serve and attract women clients. The program goes beyond surface-level changes, incorporating live coaching to instill sincerity, authenticity, and transparency into advisors’ practices.

Adri discusses:

  • The lack of progress in making the financial industry more attractive for women advisors and clients
  • Her personal experiences and motivation to focus on serving women
  • The low percentage of female financial advisors and challenges faced by women clients
  • Why we need a female-infused model in the industry that addresses the needs of women clients
  • Introduction of the “Marketing to Women on Purpose” program for advisors and regional firms

A Double Whammy for Women Advisors: How to Succeed in a Toxic Environment

A Double Whammy for Women Advisors: How to Succeed in a Toxic Environment

Imagine this; A potential new client comes in to meet with you for the first time and the minute he sees that you are a woman he asks the manager for a new advisor. How would you feel? How would this impact your future?

While today this seems extreme, imagine the same scenario as a woman of color in 1990.

Talk about challenging.

Today that same woman has built an amazing practice focused on women. How did she do it facing so much bias and more importantly why did she do it?

The industry says they support women yet so many women advisors still feel disregarded and unappreciated, it is still a toxic industry. Most women keep their heads down, do their jobs, and don’t expect any pats on the back.

René Nourse is a pioneer in financial services and paved the way for many women advisors. She cut through the toxicity, overcame a highly biased environment, and built an amazing practice that she is proud of.  As the founder of Urban Wealth Management, she shares her journey as a woman of color in the financial advisory world in this episode of the femXadvisor podcast.
